Lewisville Stuns Guyer, 42–7, Behind Turnover-Fueled Defensive Effort

Lewisville 42, Guyer 7

LEWISVILLE, Texas — Lewisville turned turnovers into points and delivered one of the more striking results of the North Texas high school football weekend Friday night, defeating Guyer 42–7 in District 5-6A play.

Guyer entered the game at 4–1 but repeatedly saw promising possessions derailed by interceptions, including turnovers in the red zone that prevented the Wildcats from converting drives into points.

Lewisville capitalized on those mistakes, with one interception returned for a touchdown as the Fighting Farmers’ defense helped turn what might have been a competitive district matchup into a decisive victory.

The result was particularly notable for a Lewisville team that entered Friday at 2–3. Rather than allowing Guyer to dictate the game, the Fighting Farmers consistently disrupted scoring opportunities and kept the Wildcats from establishing enough offensive momentum to recover.

For Guyer, the seven points represented a sharp departure from the kind of result suggested by its 4–1 start. Even when the Wildcats moved the ball into scoring position, turnovers prevented those drives from reaching the scoreboard.

By the end, Lewisville had transformed a potential upset into a 35-point victory.

The win improves Lewisville to 3–3, while Guyer falls to 4–2.

Both teams return to District 5-6A play Friday, Oct. 16. Lewisville will host Hebron, which enters the matchup at 4–2, while Guyer returns home to face Little Elm, which stands at 3–3.
