Allen’s 21-Point Third Quarter Sinks Prosper, 51–21

Allen 51, Prosper 21

PROSPER, Texas — Prosper remained within striking distance of Allen through the first half Thursday night.

The third quarter changed everything.

Allen scored 21 unanswered points after halftime, turning a nine-point advantage into a 30-point lead on its way to a 51–21 District 6-6A victory over Prosper.

The loss was Prosper’s first of the season, dropping the Eagles to 3–1. Allen improved to 4–0.

Neither team reached the end zone in the opening quarter, with Allen producing the only points on a field goal for a 3–0 lead.

The offenses came alive in the second.

Allen scored 20 points in the quarter, but Prosper answered with two touchdowns of its own and went into halftime trailing 23–14. Despite Allen holding the advantage, the game remained within reach.

That changed immediately after the break.

Prosper came out of halftime unable to establish offensive momentum, while Allen repeatedly capitalized at the other end. The visiting Eagles scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and held Prosper scoreless, stretching the lead to 44–14 entering the fourth.

Each team added seven points in the final quarter, leaving Allen with the 51–21 victory.

Allen’s offense finished with 476 total yards and showed considerable balance, producing 275 yards through the air and another 201 on the ground.

Quarterback T. Snell completed 16 of 20 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He also contributed 23 rushing yards.

J. Johnson provided Allen’s biggest receiving threat, catching six passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. J. Simmons led the ground game with 107 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

Allen spread its seven touchdowns across the offense. In addition to Johnson’s two receiving scores and Simmons’ rushing touchdown, L. Spriggs and Z. Williams scored on the ground, while D. Butler and D. Smith added receiving touchdowns.

The result followed a markedly different night for Prosper one week earlier, when the Eagles rallied past Austin Westlake 49–40 in a back-and-forth Homecoming game.

Against Allen, Prosper never found that same second-half response.

A manageable 23–14 halftime deficit became 44–14 over the next 12 minutes, and Prosper’s fourth-quarter touchdown came after the outcome had largely been decided.

The victory keeps Allen unbeaten at 4–0, while Prosper moves forward at 3–1 following its first loss of the 2026 season.

Prosper is scheduled to travel to McKinney on Sept. 24 for its next district game. Allen returns home to face Princeton on Sept. 25.
