Frisco Lone Star built a commanding first-half advantage and never surrendered control in a 44–21 road victory over Argyle on Aug. 29, 2025.
Lone Star quarterback T.J. Wright completed 17 of 25 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns as the Rangers generated 648 yards of total offense. Wright opened the scoring with a 52-yard touchdown pass to Reece Hoyt and later connected with Zachary Myers from 10 yards out as Lone Star began to pull away.
Argyle answered with a second-quarter rushing touchdown, but Wright and Hoyt connected again for a 23-yard score before halftime. Lone Star carried a 26–7 advantage into the break.
Argyle cut the deficit to 26–14 with a rushing touchdown to open the third quarter, but the Rangers responded on the ground. Hoyt scored on a 3-yard run before Isaiah Massey added a 34-yard touchdown, extending Lone Star’s lead to 38–14 entering the fourth.
Lone Star added field goals of 20 and 31 yards in the final period. Massey scored his second rushing touchdown for Argyle between the two kicks to complete the scoring.
The Rangers finished with 362 passing yards and 286 rushing yards. Hoyt accounted for 133 receiving yards, while Lone Star’s defense recorded three sacks.
Argyle generated 391 total yards, with 308 coming on the ground. L. Rexroat Jr. led the Eagles’ rushing attack with 202 yards and three touchdowns.

Sophomore Kade Pittenger rushed for three touchdowns as Walnut Grove broke a 21–21 halftime tie and opened its season with a 49–28 victory over Lake Ridge.
Walnut Grove scored all 37 of its points in the first half, including a first-quarter safety, and remained unbeaten with a 37–9 non-district win over Reedy.
C. King rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns as Walnut Grove turned a seven-point halftime lead into a 35–0 win over Hebron on Thursday night in Prosper.
