Walnut Grove Pulls Away From Hebron, 35–0, Behind King’s Three Touchdowns
PROSPER, Texas — Walnut Grove carried a one-touchdown lead into halftime before breaking the game open in the third quarter, pulling away from Hebron for a 35–0 victory Thursday night.
The Wildcats led 7–0 at the break before scoring 21 points in the third quarter and adding another touchdown in the fourth.
C. King led Walnut Grove’s offense with 152 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. He also caught three passes for 65 yards, finishing with 217 yards from scrimmage.
Quarterback A. Gosselin completed 18 of 25 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown without an interception. Walnut Grove finished with 335 yards of offense, including 174 on the ground.
The Wildcats’ defense kept Hebron off the scoreboard while limiting the Hawks to 187 total yards. Hebron managed 41 yards rushing and 146 through the air. T. Henderson-Powell recorded an interception for Walnut Grove.
The victory moved Walnut Grove to 2–0, while Hebron fell to 0–2.
